Purpose

To provide a clear scope and background on the functioning of the SAFE initiative.

Introduction

SAFE is a skills database for retention of various skills, based on the required qualifications and experience per project within the maritime sector. Owing to the dry job market we need to create alternative revenue generating functions, the job market and system is currently too rigid.

SAFE is not formal or full-time employment opportunities in the traditional sense of permanent workplace opportunities with the norms and standards of a typical full-time work environment. SAFE will offer interested parties with great alternatives a job/function where persons can still be independent thinkers, entrepreneurs and allow for flexibility and creativity. The shortcomings of traditional job models require strong challenging as they limit our ability to strengthen and expand our talent pool with more highly skilled individuals who are seeking growth for themselves as individuals and the Organisation. Modern workplaces have made some adaptations such as remote work, flexible work places but this not enough we need further growth opportunities not focused purely on personal circumstances but also on the growth of the individual, this goes beyond a permanent commitment to one Organisation from 9-5 and far beyond a clock in and leave mentality.
